Tēnā koutou e te iwi,

Congratulations to all our tamariki who have participated in winter sports over the last few months. Team sports are a fantastic opportunity to have fun, make new friends and to keep healthy and active. Thank you to the coaches and managers who have given their time during practices and on game day.

With our increase in sunny days we notice an increase of clothing in our Lost Property bins. Please pop in and check the bins which are located next to  Rm 11. It is also really helpful if your childs clothing is named.

Principals appointment

The Board of Trustees is interviewing prospective Principals on Saturday 2 September.

Teachers Only Day

Just a reminder that school will be closed on Monday 18 September. Our full staff will be attending the public launch of Te Tai Whanake ki Tauranga Moana Te Ao Māori local curriculum. The development of our curriculum through the collaboration of three Iwi, 67 kura, all ECE’s and kohanga reo is a huge achievement. On this day the content and the structure of our local curriculum will be shared and staff will be instructed on how to use it.

This is a Ministry of Education second approved teachers only day for Curriculum Refresh.

Swimming at Baywave

We are very fortunate to be able to offer swimming lessons for all our tamariki at Baywave. This consists of 10 small group sessions with a qualified instructor over one term. There is a cost to the school so it is really important that tamariki come with their togs and towel on their swimming day. This term Rm 25/24/23/22/19 & 13 swim on a Thursday.

Have a safe and happy weekend.

Noho ora mai,

Shelley Craig, Acting Principal
