Kia ora e te whānau, Our School Van arrived on Tuesday. I want to take this opportunity to thank our amazing school community for your support of our fundraising efforts. Every dollar contributed - from the raffles, mufti days, disco, to the Bingo night and grants received. All of the contributions enabled us to purchase a brand new 12 seat Toyota Hiace mini-van. It is going to be used frequently to enable students to attend events and educational opportunities outside of the classroom. I want to acknowledge and thank the dedicated group of parents, some now past parents who worked tirelessly during 2024 to organise our fundraisers, and applied for grants. Our school community appreciates your time! |

How to address concerns - At times, children have conflicts at school. I would like to remind you of our process if you have a concern in regards to how another child may have treated your child. In all cases, please contact your child’s teacher either via email, through HERO or pop into the classroom and see your child’s teacher. (After school is our preferred time). In most cases, the classroom teacher can quickly resolve issues. If you have made contact with your child’s teacher and you still feel that your concern has not been addressed, please contact your child’s team leader. - Kopukairoa - Team Leader - Tania Solomona (Room 10)
- Hikurangi (R1-4) - Team Leader - Kirsty MacDonald (Room 1)
- Mangatawa (R4-8) - Team Leader - Sue Taylor
- Hopukiore (R15, 16, 17 & 19) - Team Leader - Sheree McNaught (Room 19)
- Mauao (R22-25) - Team Leader - Sherree Clarke (Room 25)
- Montessori - Team Leader - Vicki Hiini
If you still feel that your child’s concern has not been resolved, please contact a member of senior management. Deputy Principal’s- Shelley Craig or Rebekah Shepard, or myself as Principal. We would like to ask that parents do not approach or contact other parents about a school related incident. This is due to children not always accurately recalling events. It allows us to follow our processes for investigating complaints and concerns. Swimming Clusters - Congratulations to our children who represented Arataki School at the Mount Maunganui Swimming clusters. Robyn and Nixon will now represent the Mount Maunganui cluster at the Western Bay of Plenty swimming championships next week. Good luck. Arataki News - Do you watch our Arataki News fortnightly video clips? This is a great opportunity for us to share the highlights of our Kura. We always have many opportunities for our children to engage with. This week, it has been great to see our Year 5 & 6 students participating in the BikeWise programme and learning about riding your bike safely on the road. School Holidays - A final reminder, our last day for Term 1 is Friday 11th April. If you are using our school grounds during the holidays, I want to let you know that we will be having a number of trades people onsite. The following projects will be happening - completing our classroom renovation, upgrading our internet wiring into the school and installing decking carpet on the deck in front of classrooms 22-25. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. Ngā mihi nui, Vicki Hiini Principal |

Kia ora whānau o Arataki Kura, Term 1 sports coming to an end - Information As we come to the end of another term of sports, I want to take a moment to thank all the incredible efforts and sportsmanship shown by everyone involved. Whether it was on or off the field, your dedication and team spirit have been truly inspiring to me. Thank you for giving it your all and making this term such a memorable one with our tamariki. As we look ahead to Term 2 and Term 3 winter sports, I would like to remind everyone that all uniforms and sports gear must be returned before the last day of term. This is essential for me to prepare the necessary gear bags and organise uniforms for the upcoming terms. Swimming Clusters |
A huge congratulations to Daniel, Breanna, Zia, Chloe (not pictured), Robyn, and Nixon for their outstanding performances at the Mount Swimming Clusters! Each of them gave their absolute best in every single race, showing incredible determination and sportsmanship. Some even winning their heats or beating their personal best times. What a meke achievement! Arataki Kura is beyond proud of these swimmers for their effort, energy, and enthusiasm. It was truly inspiring to see their hard work pay off, and we couldn't be prouder of how they represented our school! Tau ke koutou! And best of luck to Robyn and Nixon who both made WBOP Champs and will be qualifying next Wednesday at Baywave. Ka mau te wehi!!! |
