Kia ora whānau
Last day of Term 3.
Our goal this term was to keep things simple and keep an eye on what is important… supporting our tamariki as we moved back to normality. There were plenty of things that kept us busy, trips to the art gallery, the observatory, Funky Fun days, Choir Performance and so many sporting opportunities. Even through all the great learning opportunities our team here have kept their focus on what is best for our tamariki. What we have really appreciated is knowing if things are not quite right for some of our children. Our door is always open and we would much rather you talk to and work with us rather than let the worry build up. When we can do things differently or better everyone wins!
Refurbishment Update: The discovery of asbestos has pushed back the timeframe for completion of Rooms 5-8. These will now be complete early December, the classes will move back into the rooms at the end of our school year. This does mean our hall will be unavailable for the remainder of the year.
Rooms 20 and 21 will start during the school holidays and will hopefully be finished late February. Our Mangatawa team, the kaiako and tamariki, have been so flexible and have been committed to make their temporary classrooms in the hall and Room 17 work. A huge acknowledgement and thank you to the team!
Pick Up and Drop Off Parking. We have had lots of feedback that we don't have enough parking. The reality is that we have significant parking spaces that we can use on Grenada and Monowai Street and the great thing with these parking options is that there is a patrolled crossing operating to get our children safely across the road. Lots less stress of circling the block to try and get a park on Kaimanawa Street! Try Grenada or Monowai next term!
Finally, thank you whānau for your continued support. Look forward to seeing you all on the 17th of October.
Stay safe and well!
